LA GALAXY AND SAN DIEGO FC BATTLE TO A 2–2 DRAW IN CARSON

LA Galaxy and San Diego FC delivered an entertaining night of Major League Soccer action at Dignity Health Sports Park, finishing in a 2–2 draw after an attacking first half that featured four goals.

The Galaxy wasted little time making an impact. In the fourth minute, João Klauss received a pass from Sergi Roberto and drove forward before sending a shot into the bottom corner to give the home side an early 1–0 advantage.

San Diego responded in the 10th minute when Anders Dreyer converted a penalty kick, leveling the score after goalkeeper JT Marcinkowski was penalized for a foul inside the box.

The Galaxy quickly regained control of the scoreboard. In the 17th minute, Erik Thommy finished a cross from Harbor Miller following a passing combination that also involved Marco Reus. His finish put LA ahead 2–1 and energized the home crowd.

However, San Diego continued to push forward. In the 39th minute, Gabriel Pirani capitalized on a deflection inside the penalty area and found the back of the net, bringing the visitors level at 2–2 before halftime.

The second half presented a different challenge. Both teams searched for a winning goal, but neither side could find the breakthrough needed to claim all three points.

San Diego goalkeeper Pablo Sisniega recorded seven saves, while Marcinkowski made five stops for LA. San Diego also controlled more of the possession, holding approximately 65 percent of the ball throughout the match.

For the Galaxy, the result meant dropping points after twice taking the lead. For San Diego, the comeback demonstrated the team’s ability to respond under pressure on the road.

With the MLS regular season nearing its conclusion, every point carried added importance in the Western Conference playoff race.

The final whistle confirmed a 2–2 draw, leaving both Southern California clubs with work to do as they continued their push toward the postseason.
