Tulsa Runs Past Orange County SC in Five-Goal Night

Orange County SC walked into Championship Soccer Stadium looking to turn its recent results around. Instead, FC Tulsa delivered a night of clinical finishing, leaving Southern California with a convincing 5–1 victory.

The visitors wasted little time making their presence known.

Just four minutes into the match, Tulsa found the opening goal and immediately forced Orange County to chase the game. OCSC worked to settle into its passing rhythm, but Tulsa continued to find space in dangerous areas.

The pressure paid off again in the 20th minute when Arquímides Ordóñez doubled Tulsa’s lead.

Orange County entered halftime trailing 2–0, but the match changed almost immediately after the break.

OCSC came out with greater urgency, pushing numbers forward and searching for a way back into the contest. In the 47th minute, Chris Hegardt provided the breakthrough, finishing an opportunity to cut Tulsa’s lead to 2–1.

For a moment, the home side appeared ready to mount a comeback.

Tulsa, however, answered with another burst of attacking soccer.

Ordóñez completed his hat trick in the 55th minute, putting Tulsa back in control. The visitors continued attacking rather than sitting back, and two more goals followed in the final 25 minutes.

Delentz Pierre added a free-kick goal in the 69th minute before Logan Dorsey struck three minutes later, pushing the score to 5–1.

Orange County continued to compete through the final whistle, but the damage had already been done.

The final score reflected Tulsa’s efficiency in front of goal. Orange County had stretches of possession and created opportunities, but Tulsa consistently turned its chances into goals.

For OCSC, the night becomes another reminder of how quickly a match can change when an opponent takes advantage of its opportunities.

For the fans inside Championship Soccer Stadium, it was a frustrating finish to a match that briefly appeared to have the ingredients for an Orange County comeback.
